Previously known for his TV acting work (The IT Crowd, Nathan Barley), UK writer-director Richard Ayoade astounds with his Film4-produced debut feature. Set in 1980s Swansea, 15-year-old Welsh schoolboy Oliver Tate (Craig Roberts) has two goals: to lose his virginity to Jordanda (Yasmine Paige) before he turns 16, and to save his parents’ marriage by extinguishing the flames between his mum (Sally Hawkins) and new-age guru Graham (Paddy Considine).
