Sisters with Transistors

Weaving a tapestry of archival footage, musical samples and audio interviews, Sisters With Transistors tells an electrifying story of experimentation with care and curiosity. More than just musicians, these women - including British composers Daphne Oram and Delia Derbyshire - were mathematicians, engineers and scientists and this is a fierce acknowledgement of their work.

Profiling a series of female musicians and composers, Lisa Rovner’s documentary utilises archival footage and voiceover commentary from avant-garde artist Laurie Anderson to make visible (or audible) the lives of nine women who transformed how we produce and listen to music today.
