The Angels’ Share

Directed by Ken Loach, with a warm-hearted script from his long-time Scottish collaborator Paul Laverty, we endlessly root for the young offenders in this skilfully-plotted heist movie. More obviously comedic than Loach’s previous work, it stills explores the social issue of youth unemployment. Winner of the Cannes’ Jury Prize in 2012 and co-produced by UK outfits BFI and Sixteen Films.
