The UK’s Deborah Haywood introduces herself as a hugely distinctive talent with her debut as writer-director. Her black comedy explores the challenges of mother-daughter relationships, female friendships and being an outsider, impressively brought to life by British actors Lily Newmark, Joanna Scanlan and Chanel Cresswell. Synopsis
Eccentric mother Lyn (Joanna Scanlan) hopes that moving to a new town will provide a better life for both herself and her shy teenage daughter, Iona (Lily Newmark). When they start to face issues at home and school respectively, their tight mother-daughter bond is tested to its limits.
