With the distinctive visuals and slapstick humour for which Bristol-based animators Aardman are renowned, a crowd-pleasing film is crafted by UK director Nick Park and British screenwriter Mark Burton. With a first-rate voice cast including Brits Eddie Redmayne, Tom Hiddleston, Maisie Williams, Timothy Spall and Miriam Margoyles, the film was co-produced by the UK's BFI, Aardman Animations, BFI Film Fund and Creative Skillset.

Synopsis

Fearless caveman Dug (Eddie Redmayne), his sidekick Hognob (Nick Park) and the rest of their tribe face a dangerous threat to their uncomplicated existence. After discovering that Lord Nooth (Tom Hiddleston) plans to take over their land and transform it into a giant mine, Dug and his tribe try to defeat the enemy via a prehistoric game of football.
