Synopsis

Beginning with a 1945 meeting between President Roosevelt and King Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia, Adam Curtis explores Saudi's relationship with America, and the role it played in the war on Afghanistan. Considering history from America, Saudi Arabia, Britain, the Soviet Union and Afghanistan, the role of black-and-white thinking is discussed, as an oversimplified tale of good vs evil has since come to colour all political storytelling.
