Long-term British collaborators Dionne Edwards and producer Georgia Goggin have crafted an astonishing, warm-hearted and daring debut feature about the construct of masculinity. The raw and honest performances from its three UK leads: Alexandra Burke, and newcomers Natey Jones and Temilola Olatunbosun, are outstanding.

Set against the backdrop of a bustling South London, Candice (Alexandra Burke) - a singer who is a few auditions away from securing the role of a lifetime playing Tina Turner in a big musical - finds herself with issues at home. As well as her teenage daughter (Temilola Olatunbosun) struggling at school, she discovers that her fresh out of prison partner, Travis (Natey Jones), has taken to wearing the sparkling red dress he bought her for her audition.
