Living defiantly alone and distrustful of the carers that his daughter Anne (Olivia Colman) employs to look after him, 80-year-old Anthony (Anthony Hopkins) is content to stay in his flat and mind his own business. But care becomes increasingly necessary as his grip on reality falters and he begins to forget not just where he is, but who he is.
