Pixie

Oldham-born Olivia Cooke is the shining star at the centre of Pixie, a quick-witted heist movie paying homage to both Tarantino and the McDonagh brothers. The film is worth watching for her spellbinding performance alone, but the luminous Irish landscape (the film was mostly shot in Belfast) and captivating cameos (hello Alec Baldwin) make this a pretty good deal.

Synopsis

A local gangster’s stepdaughter, Pixie (Olivia Cooke) plans to avenge her mother’s death and pull off a heist that will give her means to escape small-town life and head to art school in San Francisco. But when the plan goes awry she teams up with two local fellas (Daryl McCormack, Ben Hardy) to escape the clutches of a criminal gang of priests and nuns.
