The Royal Hotel

Nominated for Best Film at the BFI London Film Festival, the two leads, Julia Garner and Brit Jessica Henwick, are outstanding as two young women facing increasingly misogynistic microaggressions. Writer-director Kitty Green creates a slow-burn thriller filled with palpable tension, co-produced by Brit Iain Canning and his UK company See-Saw Films.

Two American best friends, Hanna (Julia Garner) and Liv (Jessica Henwick) are backpacking across Australia, finding themselves in a temporary live-in job at a remote pub called 'The Royal Hotel'. The owner Billy (Hugo Weaving) and a group of locals introduce the women into Australian drinking culture but soon the mood turns and Hanna and Liv find themselves trapped in a rapidly disconcerting situation.
