British filmmaker Nicholas Hytner directs and co-produces this captivating drama, written by UK playwright and author Alan Bennett. With a fine score from UK composer George Fenton, a first-rate British cast composed of Ralph Fiennes, Roger Allam and Amara Okereke bring the action to life. Synopsis

In 1916, as World War I rages on, the Choral Society in Ramsden begin to recruit local young men - after losing many members to the army - as well as a new chorus master. With reservation, they hire the driven and uncompromising Dr. Henry Guthrie (Ralph Fiennes) who attempts to bring the community together via music while conscription papers threaten the town’s peace.
