Fish Tank

Filmed in council estates, car parks and the crevices of society, this is an unflinching depiction of a fraught mother-daughter relationship and the forces that prey on young women. Matching the ferocity of its protagonist’s temper and imbued with frankness, Fish Tank is also notable in providing a breakout role for Northern Irish actor Michael Fassbender.
