Calm with Horses

British filmmaker Nick Rowland delivers a powerful exploration of failed fatherhood in his BAFTA-nominated debut crime-drama. With an intelligent screenplay penned by the UK’s Joe Murtagh, and an outstanding central performance from British actor Cosmo Jarvis as the film’s troubled anti-hero, the film is as haunting as it is captivating. Co-produced by Film4 and Northern Ireland-based DMC Film.

Douglas ‘Arm’ Armstrong (Cosmo Jarvis) tries to be a good father to his autistic son while working as the enforcer for the drug-dealing Devers family, alongside cruel bully Dympna (Barry Keoghan). Torn between this family and his own, he’s pushed to his limits when they ask him to commit murder.
