In her later years, former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher (Meryl Streep) reflects on her life and legacy as she prepares to discard the belongings of her deceased husband, Denis (Jim Broadbent). Suffering from dementia, and deteriorating in old age, she looks back over her career as the first female Prime Minister of the UK.
