The Awakening

British director and co-writer Nick Murphy was nominated for Best Newcomer at BFI London Film Festival for this outstanding debut feature. Written with Welsh screenwriter Stephen Volk, the film stars inimitable British acting talent such as Rebecca Hall, Dominic West and Imelda Staunton. Intelligently constructed, the horror was co-produced by Origin Pictures, BBC Films, Creative Scotland and StudioCanal Features.

In 1919, Florence Cathcart (Rebecca Hall), a writer and part-time ghost hunter, is called to investigate a case by schoolmaster Robert Mallory (Dominic West). Claiming a young boy at his boarding school has died of fright after seeing a terrifying ghost, Florence must investigate the claims, making some surprising discoveries along the way.
