Sanatorium Under the Sign of the Hourglass

Part stop-motion animation and part live-action, this otherworldly film is as distinctive as it is enchanting. Based on the book of the same name by Polish writer Bruno Schultz, this compelling adaptation is told in chapters, giving it an episodic feel as it transports audiences to a creative and unique universe. Synopsis

On an abandoned train to visit his dying father, Jozef (Andrzej Klak) travels a forgotten branch line through Eastern Europe to a remote sanatorium. But upon arrival he finds his father held within a realm between the living and the dead, discovering that the sanatorium exists within its own unique and intangible version of time.
