Synopsis

Untamed schoolboy Richard Jenkins (Harry Lawtey) dreams of becoming an actor, but his ambitions are limited by a mixture of his alcoholic father, the war and a lack of belief in himself. But when Port Talbot schoolmaster Philip Burton (Toby Jones) notices the boy’s talent, he takes him under his wing, tutoring him as well as eventually becoming a secondary father figure.
