Missing: The Lucie Blackman Case

Directed by Japanese filmmaker Hyoe Yamamoto, and inspired by Shoji Takao’s book, this compelling documentary conveys a years-long quest for justice. Even with a determined female investigator on the case, answers remain unclear, opening up many curious questions about Lucie’s disappearance. In the summer of 2000, a young British woman called Lucie Blackman went missing in Tokyo, where she was working as a hostess at club Roppongi. With no answers forthcoming, her father escalates the case to British tabloids, as a complex and international investigation unfolds.
