British actors Romola Garai, Alex Lawther and Paul Hilton lend their talents to the first English-language feature from French surrealist Lucile Hadžihalilović, made by Film4 and the producer of In Fabric, Possessor and Sightseers. With piercing intensity and a knack for shiver-inducing imagery, there is plenty to dazzle and disorient in the dark crevices of this film.





Based on the novel by Brian Catling, Earwig tells the story of Albert (Paul Hilton), a man employed as guardian to Mia (Romane Hemelaers), a young girl cloistered in a creaky old house, who must have her dental prosthetics made of ice changed daily. Each day the telephone rings enquiring as to Mia’s health. Until one day Albert is informed that he must prepare the child for her departure…
