Derry Girls

Across three seasons of this ceaselessly entertaining 90-set sitcom, the titular Derry Girls have gotten themselves into all sorts of mischief, from starting fires to flirting with Liam Neeson. As they come-of-age against the backdrop of The Troubles, their own troubles provide comic relief as strangely profound as it is profane.

In 90s Northern Ireland, with the spectre of the Troubles looming, a group of friends who attend a Catholic girls’ school navigate the trials and tribulations of their teenage years. As seen through the eyes of wannabe poet Erin (Saoirse-Monica Jackson), her eccentric cousin Orla (Louisa Harland) and their friends: goody-two-shoes Clare (Nicola Coughlan), potty-mouthed Michelle (Jamie-Lee O’Donnell) and Michelle’s English cousin, and the token boy, James (Dylan Llewellyn).
