Synopsis

A young English woman called Lucy Honeychurch (Helena Bonham-Carter) is travelling around Italy with her cousin (Maggie Smith) when she meets the charming and free-spirited George Emerson (Julian Sands) in Florence. After returning home, Lucy considers marrying the wealthy but unadventurous Cecil Vyse (Daniel Day-Lewis), until George reappears and she’s forced to make a decision.
