Everybody's Talking About Jamie

Inspired by true events, and with rousing musical numbers, this BAFTA-nominated film was co-directed by Brits Jonathan Butterell, Dan Gillespie Sells and Tom MacRae. With a remarkable UK cast including Richard E. Grant and sensational newcomer Max Harwood, this is an uplifting and infectiously enjoyable film about acceptance and empowerment. Co-produced by British companies Film4 and Warp Films.

Jamie New (Max Harwood), a teenager from Sheffield, dreams of life on stage as a proud drag queen, being shown unwavering support from friend Pritti (Lauren Patel) and his loving mother (Sarah Lancashire), while local drag legend Miss Loco Chanelle (Richard E. Grant) mentors him towards his first performance. In spite of his unsupportive father (Ralph Ineson), an unimaginative careers advisor (Sharon Horgan), and some ignorant classmates, Jamie and his community encourage each to overcome prejudice and become more accepting.
