Synopsis

Arrogant and formidable general Caius Martius, aka Coriolanus (Ralph Fiennes), has long protected Rome from its enemies, but when his mother (Vanessa Redgrave) pushes him to seek the position of consul, Coriolanus finds himself at odds with the masses, as well as with certain colleagues (James Nesbitt, Paul Jesson). Expelled from Rome after a riot, Coriolanus teams up with his sworn enemy, Tullus Aufidius (Gerard Butler), as the two promise to destroy the city.
