Based on the novel of British author William Makepeace Thackeray, celebrated American auteur Stanley Kubrick directs, adapts and produces this visually-arresting and masterful work. Oscar- and BAFTA winning, the film features outstanding performances from Ryan O’Neal and Marissa Berenson alongside Northern Ireland’s Patrick Magee and the UK’s Steven Berkoff. Synopsis

In the eighteenth century, Irish Barry Lyndon (Ryan O’Neal) is forced to join the British army before attempting to desert. Then being coerced into the Prussian infantry, he becomes part of British nobility by gambling with Chevalier de Balibari (Patrick Magee) and marrying wealthy widow Lady Lyndon (Marisa Berenson).
