A Banquet

Another entry into the canon of gastronomic horror (see also: The Feast, Flux Gourmet), Scottish filmmaker Ruth Paxton’s feature debut takes the pressures of being a teenage girl and turns them into a disquieting exploration of disordered eating. Queasy sound design, claustrophobic interiors, gliding camerawork and a chillingly-good Lindsay Duncan all work in service of this sensory buffet.
