Certification & Tax Incentives

The BFI Certification Unit are offering 1-2-1 sessions at the Berlinale EFM for professionals wanting to discuss their projects in relation to the UK creative sector tax credits for film, animation film and TV, high-end TV, children’s TV and video games. The sessions are open to UK and international producers to offer advice and guidance on the qualifying processes for the cultural tests and official co-production with the UK to access the credits. This includes the recently introduced Enhanced credit for low-budget film (also known as the IFTC).

We will be available at the UK stand on Fri 13th, Sat 14th and Sun 15th of February, 20 minute sessions are available to book below.

There are also drop-in sessions available Monday 16th 11am-1pm (no pre-booking needed).

British Film Commission

The British Film Commission (BFC) is the UK Government’s national organisation responsible for international film and television production in the UK. With offices in the UK and the US, we provide free, tailored production support at the highest level, from the earliest stages of development through to post-production, including guidance on the UK’s competitive film and television tax reliefs and assistance with sourcing key crew, studios, facilities and locations.

Kapers Animation

Kapers Animation was formed in 2016 by Karl Richards and Peter Rogers to develop, finance, produce and sell a series of CG animated features. Having previously produced DEEP, Karl and Peter have now developed and produced three further films – INSPECTOR SUN, SPIKED and EVOLUTION. The next film to go into production in 2026 will be MONSTER HUNTERS HANDBOOK.

Reason8

REASON8 Films is a London based international sales and production company that represents films from around the world with a focus on auteur-driven arthouse and genre films. REASON8's films regularly play and win awards at the major international film festivals and are released at multiple territories through the company's long-established distribution network. Over more than two decades in film industry REASON8 founders developed extensive industry relationships and accumulated profound expertise in film project development, financing, production, sales and distribution. The company works closely with established and emerging international filmmakers adding value in its capacity of a sales agent, production partner and/or an executive producer.

SC Films

SC Films is a London-based sales, distribution, finance and production company established in 2008. SC represents 5-6 films per year, split between theatrical animation and festival-driven live action genre titles, current slate includes; Girl in the Clouds, Getting Lost and live-action Breeder, Ritual Room and Sky family film Grow.
