Bridging the Gap is dedicated to new and emerging talent based in Scotland and Northern Ireland with an idea for a short documentary. Supported by Northern Ireland Screen and Screen Scotland, the Scottish Documentary Institute’s flagship programme combines professional development, production funding, and international festival distribution to launch emerging careers in documentary filmmaking. Twelve projects are shortlisted based on proposals and visual materials. Ffilm Cymru’s Future Producers Programme is a unique opportunity for ten emerging Welsh producers to take their careers and companies to the next level whether in documentary, live-action narrative, animation or immersive. The Screenwriters programme of the Oxbelly Retreat supports writer-directors developing their second fiction feature films who are seeking to strengthen their craft and push the boundaries of their unique cinematic voice. The fellows will workshop their scripts through individualized meetings with experienced writer-director advisors and participate in sessions on specific aspects of the creative process. Τhe programme promotes a multidisciplinary approach: fellows participate in sessions with creatives from other fields, such as theatre, visual arts, and literature, encouraging them to broaden their narrative perspective and explore storytelling across forms. Channel 4 today announces a new proof-of-concept development fund designed to back big, original British unscripted formats. The fund will greenlight three to five concepts, offering £100,000 each to provide substantial development support to indies to ensure ambitious ideas are properly tested and refined. The Grierson-Percy Documentary Grant is a new finishing fund for UK-based independent documentary filmmakers and production companies. This grant is designed to support projects in the final stages of filmmaking, with a substantial amount of principal photography completed and with the offline edit underway. There should be a realistic budget and plan for completion, as well as a clear strategy for distribution and audience engagement. Funding will be awarded to cover essential finishing and/or additional shooting costs. Between two and three grants will be made available in 2026, with awards ranging from £10,000 to £25,000 depending on the needs of the individual project.

The Production Finance Market (PFM) is Film London's annual two-day financing event for film, run in association with the BFI London Film Festival.
