Catherine Clinch as Cáit in The Quiet Girl (An Cailín Ciúin, 2021)
In recent years, indigenous and minority language films have gained visibility with audiences. A growing movement within Celtic cinema has seen films such as The Quiet Girl and Kneecap conquer critics and audiences alike. Bespoke funding schemes are supporting film production in indigenous languages in several countries, such as the UK, Canada or Australia. Producers, distributors and sales agents will discuss the ways in which underrepresented voices are supported in their journey across national borders.

Most recently, he launched Connemaris Media, an Italian startup developing AI-powered tools to source, develop, and commercialize intellectual properties (IP) from cultures around the world, especially those originating in lesser-known and minority languages. With a background in journalism, production, and creative development, his work bridges innovation and storytelling. His credits include producing the award-nominated Sky Italia series Red Zones and co-producing The World Says No to War by Deep Dish Television, showcased at the MoMA in New York. KIMBERLEY WARNER | Head of Production
Ffilm Cmyru Wales
Kim leads the department’s work to support writers, directors and producers, and their films. She works with the CEO to shape policy, funding and training activity to support a sustainable screen sector in Wales, inspired by close partnerships with small local organisations as well as big screen companies across the world. Kim is the former Head of Acquisitions of Mercury Media and Journeyman Pictures and set up SVOD platforms for both companies, brokering relationships with The Guardian and The Independent. Before that she worked for the Works Media and for Scala Productions. As an independent producer her credits include films such as Claude Lanzmann which was Grierson, Cinema Eye Honors, IDA and Oscar-nominated. Kim comes from North Wales and has an MA in English Language and Literature from Oxford University and a, mostly useless, diploma in filmmaking from the International Film School of Paris. Kim is passionate about championing the weird and the ambitious; cinematic stories which no one would expect to come from Wales led by filmmakers with something to say. She aims to be a champion for working class filmmakers in particular and is passionate about improving the understanding of the intersectional way in which people are often disadvantaged in our industry.
